A busy Sunday

I had a very interesting Sunday! Mommy and Dad went to eat indian curry for lunch. They say that lately they have no time to go out for dinner or lunch so I think that this time they took advantage of the fact that I was sleeping....
Fortunately I woke up just in time, right when we arrived at the restaurant! I like to socialize and meet new people. It's a lot of fun and everybody is so nice. They all want to hold me and I love when they take me around. This time I was lucky! I was taken in the kitchen of the Indian restaurant and I made a lot of new friends! I hope mommy and dad will take me there again soon!!

After lunch we went to Mito, to see mom and dad's friend, Mr. Nakahara. I remember going also other times and also here everybody is very nice. They all want to hold me and take me around the store. Around 5pm I got hungry and my daddy gave me my bottle of milk. I could not wait to go home. When I get hungry, I get hungry!!!!

Good old memories.

Last wednesday was holiday: spring equinox. It was a beautiful day and the three of us went to see old friends in Tokyo: Katsura, Sawako and Ari. When I was working in Milano, Katsura was the manager in the office. We worked together for about 3 years before I decided to move to Japan and be with Shun. It was not an easy decision to leave Milano and the office we had started up. Ari was born then and she and Sawako took a special place in the memories of that period.
Now, they are back to Japan and it makes me very happy to know that I will have the chance to see them more often. We had a great time at their house. Sawako cooked italian for lunch and we enjoyed talking about old things and bringing back memories of old times. Chris was good the whole day. He played, ate, slept and made a mess on the floor and cushion right after drinking his milk....oh well, that's also part of the fun!!
Ari was the cutest. She was a little shy at the beginning.... but just at the beginning.
After Sophie, I think we have found another potential girlfriend for our Little Prince!

Chris n.1...yeaahh!!

"Chris n. 1.....yeaahh!!!" seems to be the sentence that Chris likes the most lately. We sing and laugh and dance a lot lately repeating this sentence in Italian, English and Japanese! At first this was only when he wore the sweatshirt with his name written on it that I bought recently. I could not decide for the number to write below the name. I have opted for the number "1", not because he is 1 years old....I thought that for us he is and will be NUMBER 1 even when he turns 10 so here you go!!! Now this sort of game goes on every morning and evening and has become our little routine...at least until he gets tired of it and I will have to think of something new!
I think he looks so cute in his special n. 1 shirt!

Ready to fly!

My baby got his passport!!!
We will be going to Italy next month so he will need his shining new, 5 years passport!! For the moment we only applied for the Japanese one since it was easier to make without having to go all the way to Tokyo. But since our baby is also an Italian, this means he can ALSO get his Italian passport. What a luxury!!! No need to choose for now. We will think about it when he turns 18 or 20 years old. The funny and odd thing is that, based on the italian law, Chris can keep the double-nationality Italian-Japanese without having to choose once reached the adult age. However, for the Japanese law, he cannot be a "double" and must decide eventually.
I hope that before that time, in 20 years, the two countries will decide for a common solution and hopefully towards the italian side of the situation!!! Until then....oh well, we'll see!
Though, one thing I have always wondered is: How can you recognize the baby from the picture taken 5 years before? In 5 years babies change, develop, transform completely.
I think the immigration officers often use their imagination on this....!

White Day

March 14th is White Day in Japan. In simple words, this is a second Valentine's Day, probably invented by the Japanese to boost the already thriving chocolate-consuming economy.
So on White Day I got my present. Not chocolates but a beautiful composition of flowers. All red! Shun came home with Chris after work and surprised me with this unexpected present. It was very sweet!

Home....sick!!

This weekend was spent at home! We are all sick! The three of us. This year I was not spared. It's been almost 3 years I haven' t caught a cold like this. I guess it was time!!! Also our little Chris is sick. Poor little baby. He has runny nose and cough. He sneezes here and then but does not cry. It's incredible how good this baby is. He is always in a good mood and has a cute smile to offer to everybody. He has also become the mascot of the hospital. We went on Saturday for his 6 month check up, and the girls at the reception all took turns to hold him and the nurses play and laugh with him all the time. The doctor told us that he is growing good and healthy. She said that very soon he will probably start crawling. She thoroughly visited him and he kept playing on the bed, having conversations with the doctor who continuosly talked to him.
Now he weights 8100grams and is over 66cm long! A real giant who soon will be like his tall daddy!! I keep buying bigger sizes to keep up with his progress, but sometimes it's just too sad when you have to put away things he only wore twice!!! I always think I should be a more careful shopper but it's not possible to leave so many cute little clothes in the store!!! My italian fashion sense always pops up in these cases!!
Will have to save a lot before going home...or otherwise I must stay away from the shops!!!!

Congratulations Tomomi and Tetsuya!!

In all this time I have been in Japan I have attended many weddings and wedding parties. All of them had some original detail that made them special. However I must say that the one I attended on Saturday was the most amazing of all. Maybe it was the style, totally Japanese, maybe it was the bride, my friend Tomomi, or maybe for other reasons, but this was unique. To start with the location. The Meiji Jingu, in Tokyo Harajuku.
To many people this name may have no particular meaning but this shrine is one of the most famous in Tokyo and in all Japan. I think this experience is one-of-a-kind. I will not dwell upon details of the whole ceremony. It would not be possible for me to actually transfer into words the whole atmosphere. I am just so happy that I could be part of it, as a guest and not as one of the many curious tourists that, in amazement, kept taking pictures of my friend, husband and family. Wow! It was like being in a movie!!!
You may find more info on this shrine in this site http://www.meijijingu.or.jp/english/intro/index.htm.

6 months old

Wow, I am 6 month old ! Time really goes fast!
I think my mom already told you that I have two little teeth already. Not that I need them yet, since I have started to eat solid food only recently. I am sure that very soon I will be able to eat everything and that's when I will use them. Now, I like potatoes and carrots, rice and I love apples. I don't like strawberries too much. They are not sweet and they make do strange faces in front of everybody. They all laugh when my mom gives me strawberries...I think that's why she does it!!!
The other day my mom came home with my sixth month birthday present. She bought me a White Bear. My dad calls "Little White Bear" all the time. I wonder why?! Anyway, she said she thought of me when she saw the bear in the shop. I think it's very cute and I already tried to bite it to see if it's good, but it has not taste and I left it on the sofa.
Today mom left me alone in the living room and while playing I fell off the sofa. I wonder why! I was only trying to turn around....and I guess I did!! I did not hurt myself. I was only surprised of my big progress...very soon I will start exploring the house. There are places my mom does not take me so I think I will go by myself soon.
I can't wait!!!
