Big Birthday Party!

For Chris 3rd birthday we had a big party and invited all our close friends and kids.
We had a wonderful day and the kids played and enjoyed the whole day.
The cake was the most amazing thing and Chris just loved it!
Poor Thomas though, all was left at the end were the face and the wheels!

Thanks Rox and Sophie!

On Sunday 30th was Chris 3rd birthday!
A few weeks before that we received a package from Portland send by our friend Roxanna and the lovely Sophia.
Chris loved everything that was inside, including the superman stickers on the envelop!
Thanks a lot Rox and Sophie. We always love hearing from you and we miss you like the first day after you left!

Latest update

Long time no see!!!
It's been almost 6 months and so much has happened in the meantime...just can't cover it all.
Chris is 2 and 1/2 years old now and quite big for his age.
He has started to speak into short, very short sentences in Japanese and he fully understands Italian but can't quite speak it...only a few words with me and on the phone with grandma overseas. That is enough for now, but I am sure that very soon he will start speaking full sentences in Italian and English....my trilingual boy!
Other than learning new languages, his major interest remains cars and bulldozers, airplanes, boats and anything with an engine! Name it, he knows it already it! All the car models, names of construction machines....amazing! And he is only 2 and 1/2!
Here are some recent pictures.

Our summer vacations

July in Sardinia was a nice break from the daily stress of work and responsibilities in Japan. First stop in Milano and then down to the beautiful island of Sardinia (my home!) where we spent a wonderful time at the beach. Unique! Judge yourself from the pictures!

Bath Time

My favourite part of the day: BATH TIME!!

Close to independence

Finally I have reached my independence! Mom makes me eat by myself (sometimes!). I find it much more fun and interesting than getting fed by someone else.
The results are that most of the food goes on the floor, properly covered with newspapers, but I get to enjoy the freedom of eating the way I want.
Maybe soon Mom will let me eat the soup with a spoon by myself instead of making me slurping it with a cup.

Mom goes to Thailand

Recently Mommy went to Thailand for work and seems she had a good time (besides her working hours). That was quite disappointing: she left me and papa home. We missed her and had to stay with grandma while she was gone!

Anyway, hope it won't become an habit!

My favourite pajamas

It's been so long since mommy posted my new pictures that I decided it was about time to do it by myself. She says she is too busy lately and has no time to do anything. I wonder what keeps her so busy....after all, she ONLY wakes up at 6 every morning, gets ready, takes care of me before leaving and then goes to work. After that she comes home, picks me up at grandma's, we go home, cooks dinner, we take a bath and after dinner we go to bed........
She could find the time to upload pictures in between, don't you think?
Anyway, I really wanted to show everybody my new wonderful pajamas, which mommy bought in one of her business trips to Tokyo.
Mommy knows what I like: the best buh-buh (e.g. car) pajamas in the world!

Never share strawberries

Trip to Korea

Happy new year! I know it's a little late....we went to Korea! A real nice vacation with free tickets got with the mileage and a great hotel. This was our Christmas present for this year. Chris loved it and really enjoyed the atmosphere in the city despite the freezing cold of -3 degrees C. Nevertheless we had a great time and refreshed for a good 2008 start.

Signal, the frog.

This is Signal, the frog. The story behind this doll is pretty amazing and I want to share it with everybody out there. Those who know me well, also know that I was an exchange student in California, one year in high school. During this year I met many friends, some also exchange students like me. I am talking about 15 years ago, and since after coming back to Italy I have not met any of my ex-school friends. With some we have kept in touch but with others we completely lost sight. Recently I started to wonder about one of my old friends, a Japanese girl, and where she might be, or whether we could meet considering I am living in Japan now. Unfortunately, I had lost all her contact numbers, address, or anything that could help me find her in this huge Japan.

Shun suggested to check google...who knows, maybe something will come up..... that's what I did, absolutely certain that nothing or nobody would ever appear with that name. I was wrong. Of course, in this world there may be so many people with the same name....but I sent the message. As a reply, I found a message confirming that she was my friend from high school and that she could not believe it!!!! Imagine me!! one message, and there the person I was looking for pops up from the Web as for magic!

Going back to Signal, the frog, this doll has been designed by my Japanese friend and has become the mascot of the company she works for in the US. This is a very special present we have received and will always remind me of this funny story. Chris loves it...of course not more than his cars or his Mommy!!
