Signal, the frog.

This is Signal, the frog. The story behind this doll is pretty amazing and I want to share it with everybody out there. Those who know me well, also know that I was an exchange student in California, one year in high school. During this year I met many friends, some also exchange students like me. I am talking about 15 years ago, and since after coming back to Italy I have not met any of my ex-school friends. With some we have kept in touch but with others we completely lost sight. Recently I started to wonder about one of my old friends, a Japanese girl, and where she might be, or whether we could meet considering I am living in Japan now. Unfortunately, I had lost all her contact numbers, address, or anything that could help me find her in this huge Japan.
Shun suggested to check google...who knows, maybe something will come up..... that's what I did, absolutely certain that nothing or nobody would ever appear with that name. I was wrong. Of course, in this world there may be so many people with the same name....but I sent the message. As a reply, I found a message confirming that she was my friend from high school and that she could not believe it!!!! Imagine me!! one message, and there the person I was looking for pops up from the Web as for magic!
Going back to Signal, the frog, this doll has been designed by my Japanese friend and has become the mascot of the company she works for in the US. This is a very special present we have received and will always remind me of this funny story. Chris loves it...of course not more than his cars or his Mommy!!

Sunday at the zoo
On Sunday we went to the zoo. It was a beautiful autumn day and not so cold, perfect to take a walk and see the animals. To tell the truth, in 4 years living in Hitachi it's also the first time for mommy to go.... good chance for both Chris and I.
We saw the elephants, lamas, penguins, goats, and all kinds of monkeys and little animals. Chris did not seem too interested....He loves dogs and cats, and gets very excited when he sees animals on TV but for some reason he was confused seeing the big animals in person. Mommy got to hold a bunny but Chris was only interested into WALKING!!! He walked through the paths all by himself, holding hands with mom or dad.....and getting upset if we dared to put him in the stroller... Can this be a sign of a future marathon runner??
